To set up a 100 acre IT City in Lucknow

Lucknow – 30 December, 2013 – HCL, which was established in partnership with U.P Government four decades ago and has since then progressed to be a leading global IT services provider today shared that it continues to invest in the Human Capital Investment in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

HCL will develop a state-of-the-art 100 acre IT city in the state capital, Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Government has awarded the project to Vamasundari Investments Private Limited, the investment arm of HCL. Earmarked to come up over a 100 acre plot of land, approximately 60 acres of the proposed IT City will be allotted to IT and ITeS, including a hi-tech skill development center while the rest 40 acres is intended for support infrastructure and initiates of social impact.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Javed Usmani, Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh said, “HCL has played a key role in putting UP on the global map. The IT city fulfills an aspiration of the state government to enhance the societal and business transformation in the state”. ”As India embraces a technologically driven business and social innovation – IT City will be the catalyst for the change. We hope and intend that with this partnership with HCL, the state of UP will play its part in furthering nation’s ecosystem for growth and leadership.” he added.

HCL has it global headquarters located in Noida offers indirect employment to 100000 people in UP with 30000 of its employees out of 90000 employees, working out of U.P. The company has set-up North India’s first IT SEZ in Noida, which is a 46 acres campus. In its full capacity the campus, will seat 25000 employees and generate export revenue to the tune of $1 billion. Shiv Nadar Foundation has set–up India’s first Ivy League Shiv Nadar University in Dadri, VidyaGyan Leadership Academies in Bulandshar and Sitapur and Shiv Nadar School in Noida.
