Sports is the backbone of many a life lessons such as realizing the true meaning of competition, fair play, and sporting spirit. HCL, as a part of its community initiatives, has taken it upon itself to promote sports and do its bit to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship in society.

HCL Bridge

Bridge is a strategy game that teaches one to be of a tougher mindset, to use ones intellect to maximum capacity, communicate powerfully and to pursue victory diligently. It is these qualities that makes Bridge a perfect fit for HCL.

HCL has strongly supported the game in India since 2003 through the HCL International Bridge Championship held every year in New Delhi, India. The championship is the premier Bridge tournament in the country and the biggest in terms of the prize money and participation levels. The 2017 championship had a prize purse of 18 millions and witnessed participation from over 700 players from 151 teams

HCL official partner of ACBL

HCL has partnered with the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), the governing body that organizes and conducts various Bridge tournament in US and Canada, to support the summer North American Bridge Championship (NABC) and bring an institutional level of support to the game in the US.

HCL Squash

With our philosophy of touching people’s lives, we at HCL believe in creating a sustainable ecosystem to promote a variety of sports in the country. Squash is one such sport that we have been supporting from 2016.

HCL launched the first Junior Squash tournament in December, 2016 as a four star national event. Seeing the success of the first championship, HCL registered this tournament as a silver event under the Asian Squash Federation and upgraded the championship to a five star national-level in December 2017. The Championship saw a participation of 261 players across categories. To scale-up our efforts towards the game, HCL partnered with SRFI to organize the HCL 74th Senior National Squash Championship in August, 2017. A seven-star tournament was held under the aegis of the Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) and the U.P. Squash Rackets Association. It witnessed participation of 554 players across categories, which is the highest number of participation for Nationals, till date.

HCL, a leading global conglomerate with annual revenues of over US $8.3 billion, is committed to its core belief of ‘touching lives’ and works towards promoting sports to inculcate a spirit of sportsmanship in society. HCL’s association with Tennis started in 2015 through the HCL Inter-School Tennis Challenge that aimed at inspiring young tennis players in the age group of U-12 and U-14 to play Tennis and help nurture and develop their skils. In 2016, HCL has launched the Junior Tour and Masters, a national level competition across five cities – Chennai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune and Greater Noida. In 2017 HCL hosted the HCL Asian Junior Tennis Championship at Balewadi Stadium, Pune. Players from 11 countries (Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Hong-Kong, Malaysia, China, Sri-Lanka, Iran and India) participated in the Championship.
