HCL Concerts Mega Festival 2017 Concludes

Attended by over 7000 classical music lovers in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon

New Delhi/ Noida/ Gurugram, April 10, 2017: HCL, a leading global conglomerate concluded its three day mega concert held from April 7 to 9, 2017 simultaneously in Delhi ( Kamani Auditorium), Noida and Gurgaon (Shiv Nadar Schools) where the artists received an overwhelming response from the audience. Over the past three days, over 7000 aficionados of classical music witnessed an ensemble representing a wide range of music genres, including fusion, semi-classical and pure classical music jugalbandis. Some of the finest classical musicians like Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Shubha Mudgal, Rakesh Chaurasia, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Taufiq Qureshi, Purbayan Chatterjee and Niladri Kumar, among others performed during the festival.

Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash (Sarod) started with the beautiful Raag Jhinjoti followed by Raag Charukeshi. They were accompanied by Anubrata Chatterjee and Shubh Maharaj on Tabla. Their performance was followed by Shubha Mudgal (Vocal) who was accompanied by Aneesh Pradhan on Tabla and Sudhir Nayak on Harmonium, and kept the audience in the three centres mesmerized with Raag Chayanat.

The music lovers in Delhi NCR witnessed a spellbinding performance featuring Rakesh Chaurasia (Flute), Kaushiki Chakraborty (Vocals), Taufiq Qureshi (Percussion), Purbayan Chatterjee (Sitar) and Satyajit Talwalkar (Tabla). They started with Raag Yaman and showcased several combinations of musical notes and rhythms on all three days. Besides these, the hypnotic performances by Niladri Kumar (Sitar/Zitar), Gino Banks (Drums), Vijay Ghate (Tabla) & Agnelo Fernandes (Keys), Sridhar Parthasarthy (Mridangam) and Rhythm Shaw(Guitar) kept the audience awestruck.

In an era where people are increasingly feeling disconnected from their roots, cultures or values, HCL Concerts presents them with an opportunity to re-establish this connect through an appreciation of the Indian classical performing arts.
